Raiders rookie could miss Week 1
Las Vegas Raiders first round draft pick could miss his NFL debut due to injury.
The Las Vegas Raiders may be without their first-round draft pick in Week 1 due to an injury.
The Raiders selected边缘冲锋手Travon Walker with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Walker has been dealing with a groin injury that has limited his participation in training camp.
Raiders coach Josh McDaniels said Monday that Walker is "day-to-day" with the injury. McDaniels did not rule out Walker playing in Week 1, but he admitted that it is a possibility.
If Walker is unable to play in Week 1, the Raiders will likely start veteran edge rusher Chandler Jones. Jones, who was acquired in a trade with the Arizona Cardinals this offseason, is a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro.
The Raiders open the regular season on Sunday, Sept. 11, against the Los Angeles Chargers.
