Amy Jones' stellar performance leads England to victory
Amy Jones' unbeaten 92 guides England to a four-wicket victory over New Zealand
Amy Jones produced a superb unbeaten 92 to steer England to a four-wicket victory over New Zealand in the third and final T20I at the County Ground in Northampton on Monday. Jones' knock, which came off just 59 balls and included 11 fours and two sixes, helped England chase down New Zealand's total of 144/4 with five balls to spare.
Jones shines with bat and gloves in her 100th T20I
Jones, who was playing her 100th T20I for England, also made a significant contribution behind the stumps, taking four catches to help dismiss New Zealand's batters. Her all-round performance earned her the player of the match award.
England recover from a poor start to secure the series win
England had lost both openers cheaply and were struggling at 21/2 in the fourth over. However, Jones and Nat Sciver (35) steadied the innings with a 78-run partnership for the third wicket. Jones continued to anchor the innings after Sciver's dismissal, and she was eventually supported by Katherine Brunt (16 not out) as England completed the chase in the final over.
Jones' impressive form continues
Jones' performance against New Zealand continues her impressive form in recent months. She hit 70 not out in England's 142-run win over the West Indies in Antigua last week, and she also scored a half-century in the first T20I against New Zealand.
